Throughout to writing process, keep in mind the primary audience that will make use of the report. 

Who are the primary audience members that will make use of the information provided in this report? Remember that your report is speaking to this audience. Taking the time to get to know your audience ahead of time is a valuable investment. Keep this information in mind when writing and especially when presenting the report. This will help you present the information in ways that help the audience to be more receptive. Include the information they seek as it relates to the purpose and use language they understand as opposed to using technical research terminology.
